A new Gallup poll shows that Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir remains the most popular member of Iceland’s government.

As reported by RÚV, 62.6% of respondents say they are satisfied with her performance.

The poll—which was conducted for the Social Democratic Party between 20 June and 9 July—surveyed 1,850 adults across the country. 809 people responded; an overall participation rate of 43.7%.

While Kristrún leads in public approval, Inga Sæland, Minister of Social Affairs and Housing, received the lowest rating. Only 29.4% expressed satisfaction with her work, while 46.6% said they were dissatisfied.

Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir came second in both approval (49.1%) and disapproval (32.6%), reflecting a more polarised public view.

Despite some criticism, no minister in the survey received a majority disapproval rating.

As reported by local media, the findings also highlight strong regional support for Social Democratic ministers in the Northeast constituency. For instance, people like: Jóhann Páll Jóhannsson, Alma Möller, and Logi Einarsson all performed particularly well in the poll.
