A danger level was declared at the airport and eight ambulances were sent to Keflavík from Reykjavík. Three of the ambulances were later asked to return while the remaining five waited for further notice, visir.is reports.
Fridthór Eydal, the airport’s information officer, told visir.is that five of the airplane’s passengers were provided with medical assistance at the airport but it wasn’t considered necessary to send them to hospital for further treatment.
It is being investigated whether toxic fumes leaked from the airplane.
