Police are still searching for a man whose whereabouts were last known on Monday evening, RÚV reports.
Infrared scanning deployed
The man in question, Illes Benedek Incze, is shown above. He is temporarily situated in Vík í Mýrdal, South Iceland, where he works.
Since his reported disappearance, about 100 people have taken part in the search for Illes, according to information from the rescue squad Landsbjörg. Visibility has been poor, and so rescue workers have relied upon drones equipped with infrared scanners to help search for him.
No criminal activity suspected
Police do not suspect that any criminal activity has been a contributing factor in this case. In a recent Facebook post, the South Iceland Police are asking that anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Illes contact the emergency number, 112.
