Four Hundred Women Leaders Meet in Reykjavík Today

Four hundred women leaders from around the world will participate in the Women Leaders Global Forum which began in Reykjavík today. The event, which takes place in Harpa’s Silfurberg hall, was opened this morning with an address by Prime Minister of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir. RÚV reported first.

The forum is co-hosted annually by Women Political Leaders (WPL) and the Government and Parliament of Iceland. “The Women Leaders Global Forum is where women leaders discuss and share ideas and solutions on how to further advance society, increase equality between women and men and promote and positively develop the number of women in leadership positions,” the event’s website reads.

This year’s theme is the contemporary digital revolution and the opportunities it provides for ensuring equal opportunity and growing the number of women in leadership positions.
