Youth Art Festival Celebrated in Iceland

The art festival Unglist (“Youth Art”) opens in Reykjavík today. The program includes art exhibitions, concerts from various music genres, dance performances and experimental events.

A visual arts marathon begins at Hitt húsid youth culture center on Pósthússtraeti 3-5 at 1 pm. People can register until 5 pm. At 3 pm the exhibition “Black and White Are Colors, Too!” by Birta Rán Björgvinsdóttir opens at the same location.

A concert by Bródir Svartúlfs (winner of the 2009 Music Experiments), Ljósvaki, Ramses and Nóra begins at Hitt húsid at 8 pm tonight. Admission is free.

Tomorrow’s program begins with a dance performance from the Classic Ballet School at Café Rót, Hafnarstraeti 7, at 1 pm. A jazz, improvisation and experimental concert takes place at the same location at 8 pm.

On Sunday, dance students from dance schools around the capital region will perform in Reykjavík City Theater at 2 pm. At 8 pm, a classical music concert will take place at the Nordic House by music students from various schools in the capital region.
