A 24-year old woman died early Saturday morning after taking in an ecstasy tablet and two young men were admitted seriously ill to hospital for the same reason. Reykjavík police has issued a statement warning of dangerous ecstasy being in circulation in the city. This is reported in all the main media.
The young woman took the ecstasy along with her boyfriend, who called for help. She is believed to have bought the drug from an unknown man on Friday evening. This is the first known instance of a direct death caused by ecstasy in Iceland.
