School authorities of the Vesturbaejarskóli elementary school in western Reykjavík sent parents of students a notification yesterday that a few young men had tried to lure boys from the school into a van.

The van was described as small and red with a sliding side door. There were four to five young men inside the van who offered the boys candy, Morgunbladid reports.
The boys managed to run away and were very frightened.
A spokesperson for the police in Vesturbaer, western Reykjavík, confirmed that school authorities had reported the incident and said it was being looked into but would otherwise not comment on it.
