A man, who is in his twenties, was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by the Reykjavík Metropolitan Police yesterday.

The man came to a police station in an intoxicated condition yesterday morning, reporting an incident which had occurred in his home in Hafnarfjörður, Morgunblaðið reports.
The man’s testimony was unclear but police officers decided to go to his home immediately. There they found the body of a woman in her thirties. The body had visible injuries. A knife was confiscated in connection with the investigation.
The woman was a guest in the man’s house; they had known each other for a while. The man has a history with the police.
The police say the investigation is in the initial stages and so no further information can be released at this stage.
