She returned to Iceland from Sweden on December 9 and since Tuesday she has been cared for at the children’s ward of the Landspítali national hospital in Reykjavík, Fréttabladid reports.

The girl was flown to Gothenburg on November 28 as it was believed she might need a heart transplant. However, that turned out not to be necessary.

Helga Sigrídur proved to have suffered a serious coronary thrombosis, which cardiac specialist Hródmar Helgason said is extremely rare among such young individuals, Fréttatíminn reports.
