The sixth annual digital business development conference You Are in Control, covering creative industries such as music, media, arts, literature, films, design and gaming, opens in Reykjavík today.

Among this year’s speakers are Oliver Luckett, founder and CEO of theAudience, a direct-to-consumer publishing company that exists within the fabric of social networks; Ingi Rafn Sigurðsson, founder and CEO of Karolina Fund, a recently-launched creative industry crowd-funding platform that facilitates alternative financing; Robert Forster, an Australian musician, songwriter and author and Kristen Harrison, founder of The Curved House creative agency.
The conference aims to “empower attendees with knowledge on how to capitalize in the fast changing digital distribution world by the sharing of knowledge across the various industries,” as stated on the conference website.
The conference runs until October 30.
