According to Fréttablaðið’s sources, the unexpected album is already completed and will be issued next year. It is allegedly very different from the calm and introversive Valtari.
The members of Sigur Rós are currently in the UK where they are presenting Valtari to local media.
The band will play at a number of music festivals around the world this summer, in addition to nine solo concerts, all but one of which are sold out.
In other music news, the EP Half Dream with Sin Fang will be published on 12-inch vinyl by Morr Music at the end of May. The band’s next LP, Flowers, is scheduled to hit markets in 2013.
Following the release of Half Dream, Sin Fang will embark on a three-week tour around Europe with Sóley. The release concert will be held in Iceland in June, immediately after the tour.
