Yacht Wanted by Interpol Found in Iceland

The international department of the Commissioner of the Icelandic Police issued a travel ban of a yacht this week which has been anchored in Hornafjördur harbor, southeast Iceland, for five weeks and is wanted by Interpol.

Police believe the yacht, which is called Ely, was stolen in Germany and sailed to Iceland. Local police in Hornafjördur do not believe that the men who were asked to take the yacht to Iceland knew that it had been stolen, ruv.is reports.

Customs officers boarded the yacht yesterday to investigate whether it had been used for drug smuggling, but there was no evidence indicating such.
