A passenger car fell into Reykjavík harbor last night, RÚV reports. According to information from the fire department, one woman was in the car. She was successfully pulled out of the car and transported to hospital. According to fire department officials, her condition is not life threatening.
The car landed in the harbor where ICE-SAR is housed. Response teams included a fire truck, ambulance and divers. Divers inspected the area to ensure no one else had been in the car.
There were plans last night to heave the car out of the harbor. The cause of the incident is not known.
