Woman Saved from Burning Apartment

Firefighters in Reykjavík were called out shortly before noon today because of a fire in an apartment in Mánatún in an apartment complex the center of the capital. A woman, who was alone in the apartment, was rescued and taken to the emergency room.

The woman’s condition is unknown but she was conscious when she arrived at the hospital, mbl.is reports.

According to the Reykjavík Metropolitan Fire Department’s duty officer, the fire has been extinguished and the apartment is being cleared of smoke. The fire had not spread to other apartments. The origin of the fire is unknown.
