An Icelandic woman was arrested after she tried to committed an armed robbery in taxi around 8 pm last night.
The car was on the corner of Ármúli and Sudurlandsbraut when the woman brandished an air gun, a replica of a pistol, and pointed it to the driver and demanded cash.
The driver was able to disarm the woman and hold her in the car until the police’s special forces, “Viking Squad”, arrived and arrested her. The woman was neither under the influence of drugs nor alcohol.
