Wind Warning across Parts of Iceland

The Icelandic Met Office has issued a wind warning for this afternoon. Winds of 13-18 m/s are forecast for Southwest Iceland with strong gusts near mountains.

Forecasters warn against traveling with trailers.

Meteorologist Hrafn Guðmundsson told mbl.is that rain and windy weather is expected this weekend, a popular travel weekend on the Icelandic summer calendar.

Conditions in North Iceland should be dry this evening but rain is expected in most parts of the country tomorrow with temperatures between 8 and 16ºC (46.4ºF-60.8ºF).
