Whale Carcass Washes up in Southwest Iceland

IR photographer Geir Ólafsson took the following photographs of a whale carcass which washed up on Reykjanes, Southwest Iceland, earlier this week. According to the Marine Research Institute, the carcass is that of a sperm whale.

Around ten whales also died off West Iceland last week after swimming into the harbor at Rif and getting beached.
