Three fishermen from Bolungarvík are among the crew on the Norwegian fishing speedboats Ásta B and Saga K which recently set a Norwegian record for catch in the small vessel fishing fleet in Norway. Collectively the boats fished over 2,000 tons of haddock and cod, Fiskeribladet/Fiskaren reported.
The two boats were built in Iceland and are Cleopatra models, they are equipped for line fishing with baiting machines aboard and a system for 28,000 hooks. The company Eskeoy AS which runs the boats is owned by Icelanders.
