West Fjords Strongman Sets New Record

Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson won this year’s Vestfjarðaravíkinginn (West Fjords Viking) strongman competition for the third year in a row, beating eleven other athletes for the title.

Hafþór Júlíus set a new Icelandic record in the deadlift when he added 5 kg to the previous record of 410 kg, set by Magnús Ver Magnússon.

The competition, which is in its 20th year, began in Stykkishólmur this year, bb.is reports.
