Þróttur from Reykjavík rank at the top of the first division in football after winning their first two games. KA from Akureyri lost to Þróttur 3-1 in Laugardalur in Reykjavík on Saturday. The U.S. forward Matt Eliason scored two goals.

In the same division, Selfoss won Víkingur from Ólafsvík 1-0 away. The only goal was scored by the Cape Verdean, Elton Livramento.

The scores from the Icelandic top league over the weekend: FH Hafnarfjörður 1 ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar 0, Þór Akureyri 3 Stjarnan from Garðabær 4, Keflavík 0 KR Reykjavík 1, Breiðablik from Kópavogur 2 Fjölnir from Grafarvogur in Reykjavík 2.

In the women’s top league, Selfoss lost to Þór/KA from Akureyri 2:3.

Meanwhile, the 35-year-old, former Chelsea and Barcelona striker, Eiður Guðjohnsen, scored one goal for Club Brugge in the 2:0 win over Zulte Waregem in Belgium. Club Brugge ended in third place in the Belgian top league, a disappointment for the now out-of-contract player.
