Two very different festivals are taking place this weekend.

The annual Eistnaflug hard rock music festival in Neskaupstaður in the East Fjords kicked off today and runs through July 14.
More than 40 acts are scheduled to play at this year’s event.
On Hrísey, a small island off the north coast of Iceland, the annual family and shell festival (Fjölskyldu- og skeljahátíðina) takes place tomorrow, July 13, through Sunday.
Activities include orienteering, a children’s song contest, a wheelbarrow race, arts and crafts, and evening entertainment.
Blue mussel soup will also be on offer.
