Weekend Festivals and Concerts Coming Up

This weekend is set to be a busy one on the summer festival calendar. Among the festivals being held is All Tomorrow’s Parties in Keflavík. The festival, which will be held tomorrow and Saturday, is headlined by Nick Cave.

A hiking festival in West Iceland runs until tomorrow with daily organized hikes.

Brákarhátíð family festival in Borgarnes takes place on Saturday with various activities including a Viking jewelry and costume making workshop for children and mud football.

The Blue North Music Festival kicks off today in Ólafsfjörður and runs through Sunday and the East Iceland Jazz Festival until Saturday.

The Sunset Festival in Garður including sea swimming at Garðhúsavík opens at 5 pm on Saturday.

Other events include the Lobster Festival in Höfn, where at 7-8:30 pm tomorrow, locals will invite visitors home for lobster soup. Also scheduled for this weekend is the Bíldudals grænar festival in the West Fjords including exhibitions and events around town.

In Reykjavík, Iceland Review contributor Edward Hancox will launch his book Iceland, Defrosted with a performance by ÍRiS at Eymundsson, Austurstræti 18 at 6 pm on Saturday.
