Website teaching Icelandic grammar

By Iceland Review

An educational web site teaching Icelandic grammar and typing was launched at a special ceremony at the Icelandic Language Day in Reykjavík Academy on Thursday.

Minister of Culture and Education Thorgerdur Katrín Gunnarsdóttir commemorated the launch of, which is free and open to everyone, as reported in Fréttabladid.

The website was created by software designer Anton Karl Ingason and Skúli Bernhard Jóhannsson, who is studying software engineering at the University of Iceland.

Ingason and Jóhannsson told Fréttabladid the site was a modern form of the Icelandic essay, used for practicing grammar in elementary school. They believe that their site could reduce the workload of teachers by correcting essays automatically.
