Web Cam Set up at Grímsvötn Volcano

A web camera has been set up at Grímsfjall looking west over Grímsvötn volcano, one of the most volcanically active spots in Iceland, ruv.is reports.

The camera sends images every ten minutes and geophysicists will be able to receive a live feed in order to monitor glacial outburst floods and volcanic activity. The first images will be broadcast on Monday.

The camera was set up by the Civil Protection Agency along with the 112 national emergency number and the Icelandic Society for Glacial Research.
