Weather Warning for Tomorrow

The Icelandic Met Office has issued a warning for tomorrow afternoon. Increasing east and northeasterly winds of 15-25 meters per second are expected tomorrow, strongest by the south coast in the afternoon and in the northwest by evening. The strong wind will be accompanied by snow, changing into sleet or even rain by the south coast. Temperatures below freezing, for the most part, (-2° C to -12° C, 28° F to 10° F), but rising temperatures in the south tomorrow night. Continued strong winds and snow in the northeast on Friday, but calm wind elsewhere.

Today’s forecast calls for east and northeasterly winds of 10-18 meters per second, but lighter wind in the northeast. Snow in most of the south, but isolated snow showers in the north.

Although temperatures may rise in the south tomorrow, it will continue snowing in the mountains, making mountain road conditions difficult. Expect snow and drifting snow in the north tomorrow.
