Weather Warning for Southeast Iceland

The Icelandic Met Office has issued a heavy rain warning for Southeast Iceland today. The culprit is tropical storm Ian, whose remnants are crossing the country. Wind won’t be much of a problem. It could reach up to 15 meters/second in the east, but less elsewhere. There is a storm raging, however, on the ocean east of the country.

There will be light rain in the west and northwest, but considerable precipitation elsewhere.

Temperatures will be fairly warm, or about 10 degrees C (50 degrees F).

The low pressure system causing the rain will have passed the country tonight, causing the rain to gradually diminish.

Tomorrow, Sunday, will be mostly dry with partly cloudy skies. Rain will move into the south late tomorrow night, starting a wet trend for next week, but no violent weather is predicted.
