The Icelandic Met Office and the Civil Protection in Iceland have issued a warning for East Iceland tonight, where considerable rain is expected. Heavy rain is forecast in North Iceland and the Strandir region tomorrow with an increasing risk of flooding and mudslides. Under such conditions, the possibility of flash flooding can’t be ruled out, for example in the Tröllaskagi area.
Residents in the north and east are encouraged to check and clear their drains to minimize the chance of flooding.
