Weather Warning Continues across Iceland

The Icelandic Met Office issued a warning this morning against people traveling around Iceland over the next two days due to strong wind and snow. A weather warning was also issued earlier this week.

Wind speeds of 20-28 m/s are forecast across Iceland and gusts of up to 55 m/s. Substantial snow is expected in the northeast of the country on Friday with temperatures from 0-5ºC (32-41ºF).

The Met Office also warns boat owners of powerful storm surges with waves of up to 11 meters in the north and east and that ice crystals can form on vessels quite quickly, mbl.is reports.

The weather is forecast to improve late on Saturday evening but people are recommended to monitor conditions.
