The first two months of 2013 were the warmest period since weather observations began in Reykjavík close to 200 years ago.

February 2013 was the third warmest ever, only February in 1932 and 1965 were warmer. The average temperature in the capital was 3.9°C(39.0°F) this February in Reykjavík, according to weather blogger Sigurður Þór Guðjónsson.
In Akureyri, North Iceland, the average temperature in February was the fourth warmest ever.
