The dairy in Hvammstangi, west Iceland, will be turned into a water bottling facility that will provide employment for ten locals. The local authority has accepted a draft of a sales agreement with Icelandic Water Export, which is expected to be finalized soon.
Icelandic Water Export is the brainchild of father and son Hreinn Sigurdsson and Hreinn Hreinsson, who have been preparing the establishment of a water bottling facility in Hvammstangi for some time, ruv.is reports.
Their plan is to export the water in half-liter plastic bottles in the first run. They are currently negotiating with potential buyers in Europe, Asia and the US. The quality of the water has been examined and it fulfills all necessary prerequisites for export.
