A reindeer warning is in place from Jökulsárlón lagoon, Southeast Iceland, all the way to Langanes peninsula in the northeast.

The largest herds of reindeer are currently in the Lón area north of Höfn, in Álftafjörður and Hamarsfjörður, south of Djúpivogur, close to Berufjörður, north of Egilsstaðir, and in Jökuldalur valley on the road to Lake Mývatn.
