Warning: Heavy Rain in Southeast

The Icelandic Met Office has issued a warning for South and Southeast Iceland until tomorrow morning. Heavy rain is expected in these areas, mainly from Mýrdalsjökul glacier to Höfn, mostly around mountains and glaciers, where precipitation is expected to surpass 150 mm in 24 hours. Water levels have risen considerably in rivers in the southern and western parts of the country.

Travelers are asked to proceed with caution, especially since fords over rivers and creeks may be hazardous. For a detailed forecast please visit vedur.is.
