The average temperature in Reykjavík so far this month has measured just over 5ºC (41ºF), which is roughly 3ºC (37.4ºF) higher than the average temperature for November during the past ten years, ruv.is reports.

The forecast is for the unusually warm temperatures in the capital to continue. Meteorologist Trausti Jónsson said in an interview with RÚV earlier today that it if the trend continues it’s possible that the average temperature for November will be well above the average for the past ten years. The average temperature in Reykjavík in November over the past ten years is 2.2ºC (35.96ºF).

The record high temperature for November is 6.1ºC (42.98ºF), which was set in 1945.
