Wage negotiations deadlocked

By Iceland Review

News station NFS reports that the new government which takes office later today will be faced with a deadlock in the ongoing wage negotiations between unions and employers.

Yesterday, the Confederation of Icelandic Employers declared that they rejected proposals by the Confederation of Labour Unions to reduce the income tax in the lower income brackets. According to NFS, this development has brought the negotiations to a standstill.
