The film Vonarstræti (English title: Life in a Fishbowl) by Icelandic director Baldvin Z will be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September. TIFF is one of the largest film festivals in North America.
The film was recently picked up for international distribution by the German company Films Boutique.
Vonarstræti chronicles the lives of three radically different people, single mother Eik, rising-star financier Sölvi and, alcoholic writer Móri, in the years just before the 2008 financial collapse. The film has enjoyed much success in Iceland.
The film is currently screening with English subtitles at Haskólabíó cinema in Reykjavík.
