Volunteers in Iceland to Participate in The Big Green Weekend

The Environment Agency of Iceland will take part in the Europe-wide The Big Green Weekend 2012 this upcoming weekend, October 5 to 7. With the motto ‘Less talk – more action,’ the event brings volunteers together to work on conservation projects.

Volunteers will meet at the Environment Agency of Iceland (Suðurlandsbraut 24 in Reykjavík) at 9 am on Saturday morning and 10 am on Sunday morning where they will be split into four groups to work on repairing walkways, fences, cleaning up the area and restoring vegetation at different locations in the capital area.

The event is organized by Conservation Volunteers Alliance, a U.K. not-for-profit organization and affiliation of European environmental volunteering organizations.
