The police dog at Litla-Hraun, Iceland’s maximum-security prison, uncovered two drug smugglers, reportedly women, who came to visit a prisoner yesterday. The visitors had been carrying different kinds of pills and dozens of grams of amphetamine.
The drug smugglers had also been carrying syringes and needles for injecting the substances, 24 Stundir reports.
Prison director Margrét Frímannsdóttir said yesterday’s drugs bust is among the largest within the walls of the prison, adding that using the police dog is part of an initiative to combat drug consumption at Litla-Hraun.
