Hagaskóli grade school won Skrekkur, the Reykjavík Grade Schools’ talent show last night with a powerful, feminist dance performance, RÚV reports. The dance, called Elsku stelpur (Dear Girls), is performed by 15-year-old girls to the spoken words of some of the team members.
They compellingly describe how society tries to control the behavior of young women, by dictating how they should dress and speak. In the end, they call for justice and equal rights. Watch the video and see for yourself.
