Video Shows Fluctuating Weather in 40 Seconds

By Iceland Review

Snow, sun, snow, sun… A time-lapse video showing the weather outside the headquarters of the Icelandic Met Office in Reykjavík from 5 am to 4 pm yesterday in 40 seconds, gives a good idea of how changeable the weather in Iceland can be.

The stills, taken every ten minutes, are from the Met Office’s webcam. Yesterday, the capital, along with other parts of the country, was subject to intermittent snowfall and hailstorms, coupled with a strong wind. Once in a while, the sun appeared.

Thunder could also be heard and there were flashes of lightning, as mbl.is reports—an otherwise rare occurrence in Iceland.
