More people than ever are said to have gone downtown on Reykjavík Culture Night this year. According to ruv.is, up to 30,000 people are estimated to have attended the approximately 500 events scheduled in the center of the capital on Saturday.
The night concluded shortly before midnight when the LED lights in the glass walls of the new concert and conference center Harpa, designed by Ólafur Elíasson, were lit for the first time, followed by a fireworks show in the Reykjavík harbor.
