Video of Killer Whales Feeding in Iceland Fjord

ICE-SAR search and rescue team member and inhabitant of Grundarfjörður, Tómas Logi Hallgrímsson, caught close-up footage of a pack of killer whales searching for foods in the West Iceland fjord on Sunday.

Tómas and his parents had decided to enjoy the good weather by taking their boat out and that’s how they came so close to the whales.

He told that he had also seen many killer whales in Grundarfjörður on an earlier occasion, “but that time I didn’t have my camera with me.”

According to Tómas, there is plenty of herring in the fjord these days, which is why the killer whales appear.

When asked what it was like to experience being so close to these large animals, he said, “it was of course incredible. You don’t realize how big they are until you can almost reach out and touch them. I sometimes had to look both sides to see the entire whale.”
