Footage showing Icelandic skateboarder Egill Gunnar Kristjánsson make a backflip and land safely on a different skateboard was aired on the television show Good Morning America on ABC on Wednesday morning.
Millions of viewers watch the show every day. Before the video of Egill was shown on U.S. television it had been watched by 3,000 people but after the show it went viral with the number of viewers jumping to 66,000, visir.is reports. The number now approaches 90,000.
Following the broadcast a number of other media outlets, including Fox Sports and MSN News, have contacted Egill.
“We’re trying to keep both feet on the ground and respond to the biggest requests first. I know the U.S. market fairly well and it will be exciting to see what happens next,” commented Egill’s agent Leon Sebran Kemp.
