Video Did Not Kill the Next Radio Star

A 24-year-old guy from Akureyri, North Iceland, Sigurður Þorri Gunnarsson, recently won the first prize at the British Public Radio (BRP) Awards in the short documentary category for his program A place to belong where listeners are introduced to Northern Proud Voices, a community choir for LGBT people in Northeast England.

The program was produced as part of his Masters in Radio at the University of Sunderland, vikudagur.is reports.

According to the BRP Awards website, over 100 entries were sent in this year.
