Victim of Thingholt Assault Still on Respirator

The condition of the man who was attacked in his home in the Thingholt district in central Reykjavík on Sunday is still critical; he is being kept unconscious on a respirator at the intensive care unit of the Landspítali national hospital, visir.is reports.

It has been revealed that the victim is a well-known musician, Ólafur Thórdarson, and that his son, who has a criminal history, has confessed to the assault, visir.is reports.

Thórdarson suffered serious head trauma; it is believed that he was hit with brass knuckles in the head.

His son was arrested shortly after the assault along with a woman who was later released. However, the alleged perpetrator will be in custody until November 29.
