A statement from the Verkís reads: “Verkís received no comments after the appraisal and was not required to make any ameliorations or changes in order to receive the gold prize.” <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office” />

In order to receive the award, the difference in salary between the genders must be less than 3.5 percent. The difference at Verkís was around 2.0 percent.

Sveinn Ingi Ólafsson, CEO of Verkís, commented that the company views this award as an acknowledgement of the equal rights mentality which is a part of the culture at Verkís and reflects the values of the company.
