University of Iceland Holds Top 300 Position

The University of Iceland holds its place on the latest Times Higher Education list of the world’s 300 best universities, rú reports. For the second year in a row, the university ranks 251-275. In 2011, it came in 25 places lower.

Each university is assessed by various criteria, including quality of teaching, international links and research.

According to the survey, California Institute of Technology (Caltech) remains the world’s best university. In second place comes Harvard, followed by Oxford, Stanford and MIT.

Sweden’s Karolinska Institute ranks highest of Nordic universities.

In the world, there are approximately 17 thousand universities. The University of Iceland is in the top two per cent of the world’s best universities.
