Director of UNICEF in Iceland Stefán Ingi Stefánsson told RÚV’s Rás 2 radio program Morgunútvarpið that violence posed a significant threat to the welfare and rights of children in Iceland.

“This is probably one of the most sensitive issues that can be discussed but we have to face up to it and take it on. It is important for us that we understand the nature of violence in Iceland and how we can respond,” Stefán said.
