Unfit Fish Balls Recalled

One of Iceland’s biggest domestic food producers, Ora, has announced it is recalling a batch of its tinned fish balls in curry sauce, as they are not fit for consumption.

Ora made the decision in co-operation with the health inspectorate of Kópavogur and Hafnarfjörður and people are asked to return the affected products to the shops they bought them from.

DV reports that the specific product in question is Ora fish balls in curry sauce in 850-gram tins.

According to a statement from the health inspectorate, the reason for the recall is a mistake during the heating process of the fish at the Ora factory which makes the balls potentially unfit for consumption.

The fish balls in curry sauce are sold at all branches of Krónan, Nóatún, Nettó, Úrval, Kaupfélag Skagfirðinga and the shop Hlíðberg.

Anybody with the balls in their cupboard can return them for a refund from any of these shops.
