Unemployment Office to Pay Millions in Missed Payments

The Directorate of Labor is to pay a total of ISK 250 million (USD 2 million, EUR 1.5 million) in unpaid unemployment benefits due to a calculation error.

The error affects 2,000 part-time workers who have received unemployment benefits in the two years since September 2010, when changes to the rate were made, Morgunblaðið reports.

The payments will be made on October 5.
