Uncertainty Level Declared again at Iceland Hospital

Code green, level of uncertainty, was declared at Landspítali National University Hospital in Reykjavík yesterday afternoon, a few days after it was lifted. The reason is lack of beds as 37 patients are in isolation due to an influenza epidemic and virus infections.

The hospital has admitted 40 patients in excess of what would be the case under normal circumstances. Patients had to be sent to other healthcare institutions, visir.is reports.

There are currently 47 patients at Landspítali waiting to be admitted to nursing homes and 55 patients are waiting for seven-day senior rehabilitation and their number has never been higher.
